NYC's Small Business Crisis

February 8, 2018

Small businesses are an endangered entity in New York City. Between the exorbitant rents, commercial taxes, and landlords renting to chain stores, more and more mom-and-pop shops are closing their doors.

This Sunday on “Represent NYC,” Council Member Helen Rosenthal talks with Chris Doeblin, owner of Book Culture, and Doug Kleiman, commercial real estate broker with Ripco Real Estate, about the challenges small business owners face and what city government can do to ease the burden.

Watch "Represent NYC" this Sunday at 7pm on MNN1 (Spectrum 34 & 1995, RCN 82, FiOS 33), MNN HD (Spectrum 1993) or stream it live on mnn.org!
